Melco's native format. Also read by many Bernina machines.
Husqvarna Viking
The legacy Husqvarna Viking format. Newer Viking machines generally take VP3 instead.
Janome · Elna
The native format for current Janome machines, and for Elna models built on the same platform.
Janome
An extended Janome format used by their newer machines. If your machine will not read a JEF+, use the plain JEF instead.
Pfaff
The older Pfaff format, for machines that predate VP3.
Brother
An older Brother format that ships alongside PES. If your Brother machine reads PES, use that in preference.
Brother · Baby Lock · Bernina
The most common home-machine format. If you stitch on a Brother or Baby Lock, this is almost certainly the file you want.
Janome
The older Janome format. Included for machines that predate JEF.
Pfaff · Husqvarna Viking
The current format for Pfaff and newer Husqvarna Viking machines, which share a platform.

The Singer home-machine format, also used by Compucon software.
