Who we are
Embroidery & Sewing — a trading name of [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — e.g. Your Company Ltd], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS] (company reg. no. [COMPANY REG. NO.]) — operates this instant-download machine-embroidery marketplace and is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices and rights you have. You can reach us about anything here at support@embroiderynsewing.com.
We believe in collecting as little as we can. We ask only for what we need to deliver your designs and run the shop, and we never sell your personal information.
What we collect and why
- Account details (such as your name and email) — to create your account, deliver your downloads and provide support.
- Order and payment records — to fulfil your purchases and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not see or store your full card number.
- Coarse location and device data — derived from your IP address to help keep the service secure, prevent fraud and show relevant content. We do not pinpoint your precise location.
- Support messages — the emails you send us, so we can help and keep a record of the conversation.
- Usage and, where you consent, measurement, personalisation and marketing data — to run, improve and tailor the shop. You choose these in the cookie banner and can change them any time in your settings.
The legal bases we rely on
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performing our contract with you (to take your order and deliver your downloads); our legitimate interests (to secure, run and improve the shop and prevent fraud, balanced against your rights); your consent (for non-essential cookies and marketing, which you can withdraw at any time); and compliance with our legal obligations (such as tax and accounting).
Who processes your data for us
We rely on a small set of trusted service providers ("sub-processors") to run the shop — for example to take payments, deliver downloads and send account emails. We share with them only the data they need for their role, under contracts that require them to protect it. The current providers and what they do are listed below.
International transfers
Some of our providers are located outside your country, so your personal data may be processed internationally. Where it is, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as recognised transfer mechanisms and contractual protections) so your data keeps a comparable level of protection wherever it is handled.
How we protect your data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we keep access limited to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to keep our protections under review.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, delete or restrict your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Signed-in customers can download a copy of their data, or permanently delete their account and personal data, from the account settings page; you can also email us to exercise any of these rights. You have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority, though we hope you will contact us first so we can help.
How long we keep it
We keep account and order records for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as we must for legal, tax and fraud-prevention reasons, then delete or anonymise them. Consent records are kept to evidence the choices you made.
Children’s privacy
The shop is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The current version always lives on this page with the date it last changed, and we will flag any significant changes where appropriate.
Governing law
This notice and our processing are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar, without prejudice to data-protection rights you hold under the law of your country of residence.
